FULL DAY – CAPE POINT VIA ST. JAMES
We start the tour in Cape Town, heading towards Table Mountain where you can relish the idyllic views of the Mother City from a cable car (own account and weather permitting).
Cableway: If the Table Mountain cable car (funicular) is not running due to bad weather, we will drive you up to the spectacular Signal Hill view site overlooking Cape Town as an alternative.
From there, we’ll meander around the eastern slopes of the Table Mountain range to the Southern Suburbs, past the University of Cape Town and into Newlands. We drive through the campus of the oldest school in South Africa dating back to 1829 and continue through the oak lined avenues and lush green suburbs. A drive through the Constantia valley to Muizenberg and along Boyes Drive, through the coastal towns of St James, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek and Simonstown. We stop at various scenic points of interest for photographs.
We visit the unique colony of African (Jackass) penguins at Boulders before entering the floral reserve of the Cape Point Nature Reserve, home to magnificent ‘fynbos’, many different species of buck and birds, the Cape Mountain Zebra, and mischievous baboons. These creatures entertain guests enjoying lunch (own account) at the restaurant which has splendid views of False Bay. Take the funicular (own account) to the lighthouse to see the meeting of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans at the Cape Point.
